I guess that the the difference rating against computers between G3 233 and Pentium III 550 is not more than 30 elo rating. I do not agree that hiarcs7 has excellent positional knowledge and an incredible endgame. I think that it is strong at tactics but not more than it. I saw Hiarcs7's evaluations in the ssdf endgames and sometimes the evaluations were realy stupid. I think that no program has excellent positional knowledge and excellent endgame. One of the main weakness of programs is that they cannot learn from search to change the static evaluation. I saw that hiarcs7 evaluated a draw position as +3 for white for many moves. when every human can see that it is a draw because white cannot make progress. unfortunately Hiarcs7 like other programs is based on static evaluation function and cannot learn to change its evaluation function.
