Linux doesn't depend on PnP stuff... it has done IRQ sharing since the PCI bus came out almost. Oh yes... I have a linux box that has been up for 513 days and counting. Got anything like that in windows? :) (this box is a campus news server and is heavily used also... not just sitting there doing nothing)
