Yes I'm surprised the moderators didn't delete it - "Marcus" sounds a bit like
the infamous Rolf, but then again it could be a cultural thing, you know a way
of arguing a point that is not really meant to be insulting? I admit though that
calling you incompetent was a "low blow".

Anyway, to put my "2 cents" worth, I don't believe Chessbase is taking over, no
more than a luxury car like a Lexus is taking over a Ford. As someone who is
REALLY incompetent regarding computer chess :), I don't see a big difference in
most of the "professional" programs and apparently the freeware programs are
catching up. Anyway until someone comes up with an engine that can find new
positional ideas, I believe most professional chessplayes will stick to
Chessbase for the seamless integration of database and engines, and I think most
of them use the engine to help them not overlook tactics while they analyze a
position.
