Sure, it's fine to do whatever you want with the source code
for SCP (Stanback Chess Program).  I posted this to the rec.games.chess
newsgroup in 1986 or 1987 I think.  Without severe modification it's
not gonna be very competetive with today's programs.

I still work on Zarkov, although I sometimes have breaks when I don't
work on it at all -- like for the past 3 months.
