Thanks a lot Tim, that was great help.
I tried that before but didn't realize i had to specify a scp to make it skip
the dialog.

Is there any way to load a specific position with lpf _and_ have winboard set to
user-machine mode at startup ?
If there is no simple solution, a complicated will do. E.g. I'm happy if there
is a workaround if not I would have to change winboard a bit (and then I would
really need help, cause I'm a poor Coder)

I'm writting a chess-tutor-program that will use winboard for exercises.
