I've been running a dual PIII-600 since the chips first came out. It's been completely reliable - and it's not a "name" brand, but from a local company we use as our corporate supplier. I'm running Win NT 4.0, Service Pack 4. All the major programs run fine on it. Rebel is about the only one that fails. And like some others, I have most of the programs available (CB 7, Fritz 5.32, Junior 5, Nimzo 7.32, Hiarcs 7.32, Genius 6, Shredder 2). Crafty runs particularly well on this machine. My performance is not a good as Bob's quad xeon, but it's not too far behind. I'd recommend getting no less than 256MB of memory, although with the price of memory going up at this point that will be more of an expense than previously. If you want to spend the money (probably about $3,000-3,500 around here) I'd suggest waiting a month or two and getting a dual PIII-733 with the new 820 chipset from Intel. If you want it a bit more economical, you can get a dual Celeron 500 (as Bob suggests), or even a dual PIII-550/600 for somewhat less. Paul
