The only reason why I never bought a MAC is because there are "no software"
available for MAC's. Before people start lynching on me for saying that there
are "no software" available, let me be more precise on my definition. I don't
mean games, but there are a lot of Engineering and Business software which are
only available for PC's. The reason why this trend was because of bad marketing
of Apple Computers, they charged an arm and a leg for their MAC's, and in those
days it was black and white monochrome MAC's. It was simply out of reason for a
lot of consumers, so the software developers decided to investe in creating PC's
software because there was a large demand than the MAC counterpart. So the same
is true today, there are a lot of Chess software available for the PC's and very
very few commercial software for the MAC. Yes, I know, you probably will tell me
that I can run a Windows emulator in the MAC to run DOS/Windows software. The
problem with emulators is like running your software in interpreter mode, which
translate to slow, and it may not always work. I don't buy a MAC because the
software available for my needs are only available for the PC's. Although I
think that MAC's are superior to PC's, but availability of software is what
determines my choice of computers.
