John, You may be one of those people whose bioplasm is hostile to machines.(Just Joking--or am I?) My wife has computers and car electronics fritz on her and I tell her that "You don't know how to treat a lady." This infuriates her and she thinks I am being a smart ass. I had a Novag Sapphire I and sold it to one of my doctor friends who still has it after four years and in perfect working order. So I do not think that it is always the machines fault. I do agree with you that the machines are fragile and I have had a number of stand-alone units just stop working after two years. The same thing happens to notebook computers. Screens crap out or keys stick or the unit overheats. Portability has a price and it is called diminished reliability. Tim Frohlick
