Well Tim I would like to think that I am as Careful as yourself, especially
with my chess computers. I was like a little Child on Christmas when I first
recieved the saffire after having used the weak radio shack 2150 for several
years, this radio shack unit although weak is made very well, I had had it for
three years with absolutely no problems, still i was very happy to recieve the
saphire and extremely satisfied with the strength of it's play, it was just the
durability issue that was the problem, and it seemed very hard on batteries. I
am not the only one who had this problem several of my friends were also
dissatisfied with the unit for the same reasons. Perhaps you did not use your
unit as often as myself? I played it alot. But simply using the unit should not
have caused it to fall apart so quickly. Another thing is that the imput simply
failed to respond, I had never spilled anything on it, but I had this erratic
behavior from it. Do you have saphire I or II? Perhaps if you have II they
improved it and made it more durable, or I could have had a defective unit from
the start.
