I am interested to know if tiger won by better positional understanding or by
outsearching diep.

when did diep understand that tiger has a better position?

If it was one move or two moves after tiger understood that it is better then it
is probably a win because of deeper search and otherwise it is probably a win
because of better evaluation function.
