OK. I thought by "evidence" you were referring to only the single game score
you provided. In any case, I do know that you have done a lot of computer
matches, and also that you have done some nice cross checking of things as a
favor to me. I am not trying to poke at you, per se.

I think we can "agree to disagree."

There is ample evidence from the links I have posted to show that crafty is very
strong, and has been very strong for a long time. Your data may show that
crafty has some kind of weaknesses. I think some hunting will probably come up
with tournaments where crafty has not done as well as the ones that I found.

Is crafty the strongest program on earth with equal hardware? Probably not.
But it is a very strong program that gives commercial programs a run for their
money. It seems to dominate the freely available programs. In fact, the ICC
green list was created as a competition forum where the programs did not have to
operate in morbid dread of crafty (IIRC).

You may have some valid statistical evidence to support your assertions. At any
rate, crafty is more than strong enough for me. I think it will probably always
be my favorite chess program. I am also fond of Hiarcs and Rebel, and expect to
be enthralled with Chess Tiger {once I get my hands on one}. I don't like
Chessmaster (but do recognize its incredible strength). Shrug.
