I think that Curtis is probably a young kid who got frustrated at not knowing how to set something up. When you were 13 or so, you would likely have moments like that also. Saying "You're a dumbass." is a personal attack. It is aimed at the person. Saying "You're completely and absurdly wrong." is not. It is aimed at the idea. See the difference?
