I believe most players use programs to find tactical variations.  For this
purpose I don't think there is a difference for 99.9% of the players if giving
this advice is a 2700 or 2800 tactical monster.  And this 99.9% will be 99.99%
in a couple years as processor speeds increase.

Maybe I am spoiled but compared to leading programs in other fields, chess
programs seem 2-4 years behind.
