There is a differnece beacuse programs are sometimes weak in tactics and cannot see simple things like perpetual check if the number of plies is very big. In most of the cases they are strong in tactics but every player with rating of at least 1800 can see the minority of the cases when programs are stupid and are not close to 2700 or 2800 in tactics. I also do not think that most of the players use programs only to find tactical variations. Uri
