Now I think winboard engine is cool for compatibility, ease of overnite engine-engine matches etc. Custom interface is also fun - for writing one all you need is some telnet activex thing for windows - and reading 'help style_12' on fics (or was it 'help style12'...). It has some advantages over winboard, but my point now is: you waste about same amount of time writing either one. I made mine in Delphi in some 3-4 hours. Either way is way to go... -Andrew-
