But the customer may also think that the program is better. It seems to find
a shorter mate than the others. :-)

I agree. I tried some four or five years ago a demo program which allowed
to play first 20 moves or so. If such limits are used, would be better to
set it e.g. to 50 moves that one can try some kind of GAME against it, not
just OPENING.
