When you are at this level (and Johan's engine is really good), you have to deal
with that.

Since several years now, most ideas I try fail and I have to throw them away and
imagine something else.

That's what makes computer chess really *hard* at that level. You have to be
prepared to spend weeks (even months) of hard work and actually find nothing
interesting.

It's a hard battle against yourself.
