Personally I have both. I like the Athlon for the speed, but nothing beats the
stability of my Intel system. I have a 1.2 Ghz PIII, and an Athlon XP 2000+.

The Athlon is the faster of the two systems, but overall I like the Intel
machine for everything from gaming to processing databases.

I recently installed Linux on the Athlon machine as I am doing some research
into which OS is best for Crafty. I believe it will be Linux as every clone of
Crafty on ICS that uses Linux seem to be the toughest. I am using Red Hat 7.2
for this.

On the Intel machine I use Windows 2000 Professional as I do not like Windows
XP. I don't like alot of the stuff that it does, and I do not believe I should
have to activate anything with any company I legally purchased software from. If
anyone wants my copy of Windows XP I would gladly sell it, as it is just
collecting dust on my shelf. I will not use it.

Windows 2000 Professional does everything that I want it to do. It also out
performs Windows 98 in the games that I play. There are not many, but for the
online ones nothing can touch Windows 2000.

That's just my two cents and trust me someone will put their's in as well.

Kevin.
