Subject: Question about autoplayer games to experts - any tips for a beginner?

I am currently playing autoplayer games between an UCI engine using the
Shredder6-GUI and ChessBase engines using the Fritz 7 GUI.

One thing that happens quite often is that some game simply stops after the 40th
move of White on the Shredder site. The 40th move seems to never get relayed to
the other side and the match finishes after some time.
This seems to happen regardless of who is slave and who is master.
(I also had this when I tested engines with the auto232-tool by Rémi Coulon so I
suspect the ChessBase GUI might be the culprit).

I don't have a clear idea whose fault is is yet( Shredder, engine or ChessBase
GUI) but as it seems to happen quite often maybe some of you know.

Another problem is that the ChessBase GUI seems to crash from time to time in
autoplayer games using the Junior engine. I haven't seen this in manual matches
before.

And a final question - there is a short delay transferring the moves from one
side to another and the clocks are not in synch. What happens if one side thinks
the other one has lost on time?

So far I have never seen a really long match run without any problems at all,
but many people report long matches here - what is your secret :) ?

Peter
