There is a bug that was just reported. It is possible for your rating adjustment
to be calculated incorrectly if you choose the random opponent option. Your
rating after beating Sam (1439) in your first game should have been 1839.

This bug has been found and fixed, and will be in the next patch. Unfortunately,
because the development team is pretty much entrenched in producing the French
version, the next patch will likely not be released for several weeks. Until
then, I suggest not using the random opponent feature.
