GM's like to avoid playing hopeless positions. Crafty is not perfect, of course, and it will occasionally play on in a dead draw because it doesn't realize it is a draw. I never match _them_. They can play when they want. I even give them the "password" so that they can force it to play whatever time control they want, or they can force it to resign or offer a draw when it is appropriate... The idea is to treat them with a reasonable amount of respect, and it pays off... There are _plenty_ of comp operators that are simply jerks. Most know who they are. :)
