I've finally managed to get a build that works decently, so here's the first release of my engine, Kiwi: http://www.ascotti.org/programming/chess/zip/Kiwi01b_Win32.zip The engine is probably a patzer, but I thought better give you the chance to win some games before it becomes too strong! :-) An important note, also mentioned in the readme: as the engine is still at an early stage, it cannot be configured yet. In particular, it always uses a 32 Mb hash table (way too small to play at long controls) and will generate a "kiwi_log.txt" log file in the current directory (probably its own or Winboard's). This file gets overwritten whenever the program starts, so it never really grows too much and can be safely ignored (or peeked at to see if engine had something special to say...).
