Useless king moves About 5 years ago even the very best engines did this at times. The typical Kg8-h8-g8 manouvres. I don't know why top engines don't do this much anymore. b.) Time usage If there is an obvious move to be played, the engine should play it fast, just like a human. Of course there is some risk involved, but it doesn't feel soo difficult to control to me. The rest is much less important I think, though more difficult to control I suppose. For movei it would mostly be the useless rook moves IMHO. Movei has a tendency to move its rooks to the strangest places and manouvre with them in an highly artificial way, which feels "computer-like". But I think a.) and b.) are most important to improve the human touch of an engine - and maybe the easiest one b.) is even the most important one. Peter
