I think most of the job to have an engine feel human-like is not so difficult.

a.) Useless king moves

About 5 years ago even the very best engines did this at times. The typical
Kg8-h8-g8 manouvres. I don't know why top engines don't do this much anymore.

b.) Time usage

If there is an obvious move to be played, the engine should play it fast, just
like a human. Of course there is some risk involved, but it doesn't feel soo
difficult to control to me.

The rest is much less important I think, though more difficult to control I
suppose.

For movei it would mostly be the useless rook moves IMHO. Movei has a tendency
to move its rooks to the strangest places and manouvre with them in an highly
artificial way, which feels "computer-like".

But I think a.) and b.) are most important to improve the human touch of an
engine - and maybe the easiest one b.) is even the most important one.
