Hello,

Last year only my brother could attend the tournament, so he was going to
operate. I did not have time, as I would be away during the evening. What
happened was that in the first or second round (don't remember exactly) the
router died - it did not just crash, but could indeed only serve as recycling
material afterwards... That meant that he did not have internet access any more,
which is rather fatal in an internet event. As that was completely unexpected,
we did not have any backup solution, like a remote computer at the university or
something similar which had actually been tested. I tried to quickly set up the
program on my hopelessly outdated computer (P3-450MHz) before I had to leave. Of
course, during one of the breaks between games (just one or two games later),
the internet connection was interrupted, and that was the end of it all.

This time, as things look, I will "operate" the program (that is attend during
the whole tournament), while Muntsin will probably watch substantial parts of
the event. In the (unlikely, I hope) event of something similar happening, he
should be able to take over.

Also this time, we have allocated a little more time to testing on ICC before. I
guess that is crucial as well to ensure proper functioning of all involved
components...

Anyway, I wish everyone a fun event!

Best regards - Munjong (Ikarus team).
