Hello, well, i can't believe it, but it happend: UCI sending usually position startpos <moves> in a running game. This could be a really long string. At the moment i'm using a buffer of 256 bytes to read this stuff. I was suprised that's not enought. Homer can plays around 50 moves before the buffer is to small. Well, these values let me think that i need more then 1024 bytes for a real long game. So, here are my question: Which buffer size do you use in your engine to be sure to get all data in your buffer ? What would be a good standard value ? Thanks, daniel
