That is just me of course, and I have had lots of experience doing it, so maybe it isn't for everyone. I have played humans in blitz chess for years, using a real clock, with 5 real minutes on the clock. I generally used to set Cray blitz up to compute 3 seconds per move until it had burned 1 minute of its clock, then 2 seconds per move until it had burned 2 minutes total, then 1 second per move for the rest of the game, and I played many games that lasted over 150 moes... I use a similar setting for Crafty usually...
