Pondering is another factor that may help shredder more than fritz and when the difference is so small(only 18 elo in your list) then it is not illogical to think that the order of fritz and shredder can be changed by changing one factor. Practically I suspect that more than one factor is changed and your tests do not have only x minutes/40 moves so time management may be also a factor. Uri
