Ernst, thanks for your info. Fritz 6a analysis confirms what I said: some "fast searchers" have problems with horizon, due to lack of position-specific knowledge, so they need the time for "crunching" which lasted for more than an hour on your machine. So far the quickest way to winning has been found by Rebel and Shredder... Interestigly enough, it seems that Shredder 3 (which I have and tested) is faster than your Shredder 4. Could this mean that Stefan opted for some shortcuts and faster processing in the latest edition of his program? *** Djordje
