I don't think positional learning can be described as "just another question".
Since you "became so interested in computer chess that" you "gave up playing and
spent that time testing computer programs", one might assume that you were aware
of the question. Speculating about the knowledge or awareness of Dr. Hyatts or
others regarding this issue is rather irrelevant, unless you suspect that
someone wasn't telling the truth about it. Myriads of questions have a tendency
to develop when there's a lack of answers, especially good ones.
