Better yet, can the ugly 3-D boards altogether and just use the Winboard design.
It's much better than any 3-D board design ever.

I prefer the Winboard interface to the real thing, as pieces don't get in the
way, and the wrong angle won't cause problems.

Besides which, in real life, our head does not sit still as we play.  We move it
a bit and see the board from different angles.  You can't do that with a
computer display (without some funky "virtual reality" setup).

In short, I don't like 3-D boards at all.  Period.  I wish they would get rid of
them so it would stop cluttering up my disks with useless bitmaps.
