You don't want to elect someone that rarely posts either, because you need some
kind of experience or frame of reference as a poster to be a good moderator
IMHO.

It will help you estimate the situations where you're not personally involved.
And as long as all three moderators agree on deleting a post in a thread where a
moderator participates, then the procedure should be alright.

The ability to participate freely shouldn't be limited for anyone, moderator or
not.
