Blas: Maybe there is another reason besides that of money you guess -or joke about- as one reason. Once you have made public your program, you becomes a prisoner of it in order to keep it all the time in good shape. He should be compeled to upgrade it in a regular shedule so his program would not become easy prey of nobody. Then it would not be anymore a thing of pleasure but of pain. Bruce probably -in fact, surely- has another more important occupation than to program chess, so he does not want that such a thing happens. Thinks in this: he delivers the program and for a moment all people praise him, but a month later the programs becomes somewhat obsolete or lose a game to this or that program and critics and ugly comments begins. He wants that? Specially, who wants that IF the program was top and won a tourn or almost? Then you are not a guy that is just climbing step by step as Ulrich with Comet does, but the champ or almost cham defending your tittle or almost tittle. Heavy task to do. Happy new year fernando
