The only program likely to generate a great deal of interest in the conventional media would be Deeper Blue. That's the program that people know about. Deep Fritz or Shredder might by fun to watch, but if something like this is going to come off, it will be in part because of media fiat. And that will only happen with DB. And anyway, do you really think any of the micro programs would be *demonstrably* superior to DB? I doubt it. The question is really "Are they as good?". And even that is probably a stretch. Asserting that they might be bettter than DB is a definite reach. Chris
