Now here is something that I hope the controversial organizer Luis
Rentero gets his interest into: The computer versus human tournaments!
After all, year after year, he makes the human's sign contracts agreeing
that they won't have any short draws with each other, and year after
year, he has to fine them for doing just that! But if he started
sponsoring an AEGON stlye tournament where the top 20 micros only played
the top 20 human's, he would have the advantage of player's (chess
programs), that never have any problem with playing out a position (no
matter how drawn or boring) and don't care whether they win or lose!
This would really be the ideal kind of event for this rich organizer to
stage, as interesting as any seniour or women's event, and it can be as
inovative as any blindfold event he has run - And it would give him tons
more publicity, while bring back a tradition of the AEGON stlye
tournaments, that it appears, has sadly ended in 1997.
