Chessbase did not have to give winboard adapter. It is something they gave for free. People buy Junior,Fritz or Tiger not for the winboard adapter. I understood from reading posts here that some people made a downgrade of the aspater so winboard programs cannot ponder and it is not only a problem of yace and with the old adapter that is free yace has no problem of pondering. Please understand that most people do not buy chessbase products or products of other companies in order to run free programs. Uri
