The majority of the best chess programs are, or becomes, commercial and are then tested by the SSDF. I think Thorsten is hinting at the "How?" and "Why?" of the individual engine results instead of the ability to produce a convincing winning percentage. Somewhat difficult to measure, however. You can analyse the games of each engine yourself of course, but that is hardly appealling. So I would like to add my name to Daniel's (Sargon's) question. What is the point of the SSDF rating list? In my opinion it is suffering from inbreeding. Fritz is in the lead again. Oh well. Regards, Mogens
