It means how strong at go you are.  He is suggesting that if you are not a
strong go player, you do not understand the game well enough to make
pronouncements about it.

  He is wrong.  You are perfectly well entitled to hold any opinion you want
about the game of go, notwithstanding your skill level.

  Personally, I don't like chess and probably will never play it again.  It
doesn't bother me the least bit if someone tries to explain how much better
chess is than go.  I just ignore him.

  I don't think go is better than chess.  I just myself prefer go to chess.
