Hi Moritz, Thank you for explaining this to me. Your reply is very reasonable and I apologize for getting so edgy with you. I'll snip pieces of your post to comment about. >> I think >>you probably did not mean any of this, but looking over them I see >>you asking questions like > >>"did we question the other >>moderators decisions" > >Please have patience with my special interest in this case - I feel involved >since I was responsible for that decision, which now has been called the result >of a "Kangaroo court" by Bob and was back then the reason why Bruce left CCC for >good. I simply wanted to know why you suddenly announced your decision to invite >back somebody who has likened *me* with SS Obersturmbannführer Adolf Eichmann >(who was responsible for the death of more than 3 million Yews in Europe and >sentenced to death by an Israeli court) in the past. I know that this has >happend on r.g.c.c., not CCC, so it is not relevant to you, but it illustrates >(hopefully) my sentiments in this case. My sense of this whole business is that you guys simply made a different decision that we might have in the same circumstance. I don't see where this is a problem at all, unless you think we all should be exact clones of each other! There will always be a grey area where being slightly more or less forgiving will make the difference between yet another warning, or an expulsion. >Please also note that I agreed with Enrique's proposal to reinstate even this >very Rolf Tueschen by the means of a standard "recovery" procedure for penalized >former CCC participants. You see, I even supported your decision, although on >different grounds. You should realize that we were not trying to overturn any decision you guys made earlier. We simply felt it was worth a gamble bringing him back since he seems to have improved his attitude in recent weeks and months. >I don't see why it should be offensive for you to elaborate your reasons for >having Tueschen back, > I hope you will now understand a little bit better why I >asked you about it. It's extremely obvious. You were not sure if our motives for doing it were based on "righting your wrong" which would be a slap on the face to the previous moderators, or simply because we thought the situation with Rolf had changed. I assure you we were not questioning your decision, in fact we considered this stuff earlier and thought he might still be a big problem. We think the situation has changed and that is why we bring him back. I am really sorry I did not take this into account earlier. We certainly thought of this very thing and were concerned that our actions would be percieved as a "slap in your face" and we did not want this to happen. It is only natural that we both feel at least slightly uncomfortable over this. You post was a natural response to this anxiety, and my response was too. > I voted for Don, Amir and Christophe, if I had been given 4 > votes instead of 3, Bruce would have been a likely candidate. What? A little encouragement from someone! I must be dreaming! Seriously, I appreciate the vote of confidence. Several folks have said encouraging things about us and to us and it's certainly appreciated. >P.S.: This reply just cost me another hour, after your statements ("paranoid >mistrust") I felt obliged to write this, I sincerely hope it was worth it for >you. Thanks for taking the time Moritz. - Don
