I doubt people will be flocking around the Opteron to go fast with their 32 bit apps, so the whole thing is, as I've been saying, pointless. It is backwards compatible, this is a *nice* feature, it is however not very *interesting* to benchmark, certainly it should not be _the_ benchmark for this chip. Measuring specint for a new chip using a compiler that in effect cripples it, is not only incompetent, it's misleading, IMO. -S.
