Here is the load for a .220 swift doing 5000+ fps. http://www.reloadersnest.com/detail.asp?CaliberID=23&LoadID=1492 If you ever get around to trying this load, let me know. About the purple mist.. I'd assume that would be mainly from the copper jacket vaporizing. Is there some sort of coating you could put on it perhaps to help withstand the high temperatures? Teflon maybe?
