I would bet all of the players own a copy of top software, and >play these programs daily. hmm, i don't think you understand this. i also have fritz and shredder on my PC, and i use them to prepare, and to analyse games. but i never play against them. GMs are the same. they use these engines as tools, but not as sparring partners. and even if they ever play a game at home against these things, it's simply not the same. experience in playing against computers means that you have played a match against such a machine. everything else doesn't count. just look how much kasparov's anti-computer play has improved over his matches. cheers martin
