Hello Thomas,

Well it says it has an UCI adapter and I couldn't make it work in Arena. But it
seems that it did use a UCI mode, FEN and also analysis mode in previous beta
versions as people say. Why on earth would someone disable such important
features ?

I asked someone about the size of the old beta and compare it with the size of
the new version:

Fafis 0.3X was : 204,800 bytes
Fafis 2.0 with virus:212,992 bytes
Fafis 2.1 without virus: 200,704 bytes
Fafis 2.1 with UCI: 241,664 bytes

so he took something out and the engine is still growing in size, just an
observation.

A lot of engines do not understand legal positions, some accept illegal
positions as being legal. Testing engines without FEN/analyse abilities is more
or less impossible...

Why doesn't he want us to test it ?

Best,

Michael
