hm... the analyse mode -> did you test that with Fafis loaded as UCI-engine ? If
that is the case then the answer is easy: UCI is more or less stateless, there
does not exist anything like an analyse mode. Instead the engine is simply told
to think 'infinite' about the position. Every UCI engine should be capable of
analysis. Only problem is, when they do not support 'position fen <fen>' and the
'stop' command. Then you can not really use them for analysis.
