But yes, given that the structures when white avoid it belong to the group of openings Michael Adams often plays into himself with the white pieces, I think it might have been a good idea. I think that Adams probably planned to play for a win. It will be interesting to see what he chooses with his last black: the Marshall is an interesting alternative IMHO. Peter
