No mention of plastic pieces is made on the site, Ismenio has pictures of the computer with plastic pieces but those are from a CC7, they seem to be different from the pieces displayed on the box of the CC1 or CC3 that are clearly Black and White and not exactly of the Staunton model that the later Chess Challengers had.
