This is what happened in the already discussed game against Isichess: [Event "WCCC 13th"] [Site "Reykjavik"] [Date "2005.08.15"] [Round "4"] [White "Fruit"] [Black "IsiChess"] [Result "1/2-1/2"] [ECO "B53"] [PlyCount "37"] [EventDate "2005.??.??"] 1. e4 c5 2. Nf3 d6 3. Bb5+ Nc6 4. d4 cxd4 5. Qxd4 Bd7 6. Bxc6 Bxc6 7. c4 f5 8. exf5 Qa5+ 9. Nc3 Qxf5 10. O-O Bxf3 11. gxf3 Qxf3 12. Re1 e5 13. Nb5 Nf6 14. Nxd6+ Bxd6 15. Qxd6 Qg4+ 16. Kh1 Qf3+ 17. Kg1 Qg4+ 18. Kh1 Qf3+ 19. Kg1 1/2-1/2 If you take a look at move no.9, then you might be able to find in the relevant computer database that 9.Nc3 is much inferior (around 51%) to Nd2 (85% !). All this is very important in a rather exotic choice of White's Ruy Lopez with 3.Bb5+ where most of the black's replies are simply forced. This was the second striking example. Quite enough in the ten games played so far. I am not saying that the book is bad, I am only saying that Fruit could have done much better with the 1.5 points out of 2 given away pretty easily and without much real fight. I like to speculate that the whole Championship would have taken a different turn if Fruit had played 3...c6! in its game against Zappa, and 9.Nd2!! in the game against Isichess. Djordje
