Hmm, I conceded a point too early. You wrote at your site:

"In the short run (the next few years), dramatically swapping speed for
knowledge will make a program a little weaker (relevantly against other comps
and super-GMs) but more useful to the market if done well. That is the
sacrifice. If people are obsessed about comp-comp scores and which program is
thusly proved stronger, it makes progress in a more interesting area tougher."

Evidence for that statement other than ChessBase marketing blurb on Fritz 9?

I am ready to be convinced - how about only one single real example, Mig ?
