I must disagree with you. I believe that one makes his own luck!
Besides, from an amateur point of view, luck is always a factor in anything in
life !!!
So getting to the point, the operators are the key in winning these type of
championships. The key is in the opening preparation, and the ability to select
the correct opening against a particular computer engine. Super GM does that all
the time against their fellow GM, and when Kasparov wins a super tournament is
it to luck that he beats his fellow peers? Remember that GM Kasparov won 3 super
strong tournaments this year. Was it luck then?
