That's weird indeed. Do you by accident have 2 cdroms on your system?

Other known trouble makers:
- clean the cdrom (sometimes even a finger print can be the reason)
- some cdrom players become very critical as the laser kind of burns out
after some time.

If you have the chance try to install on another computer to ensure the
cdrom itself is good or not.
