The DT games used for the fredkin prize didn't include any game/30 games. At the time (1995 and before) I don't know of any major tournaments that were using anything other than 40/2 for the open sections... IE the world open, the US Open, Software Toolworks, etc. DT played matches, but I don't believe that USCF ever rated computer matches, according to their policies on computer members, to avoid some obvious rating mischief by humans or computers. I am only (personally) interested in 40/2 type time controls. I have long since said that at game/30 computers are very tough even against GM players. I've played many of those in formal and informal matches. And see how my program has done. 40/2 is something else. I'll see if it is possible to get accurate data from the USCF on the games DT played to see what was included in the rating... "tournaments" were probably in there, but matches were not, and it played a fair number of matches that were just exhibitions.
